KHCP-Medical Camp at Kagyu Monlam in Bodhgaya, Nov. 27th - Dec. 3rd, 2009 (photo report)
This year the Mönlam committee invited us once again to organise the medical camp for the Mönlam practice with Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje and Künzig Shamar Rinpoche.
We are so glad of our growth and our internationality! 20 helpers from 8 states and 3 continents, doctors and therapists came together for a week to take care of over 3,000 people.
Our job was to manage a clinic with enough medicine and to offer the appropriate treatment. Therefore it is marvellous to hold different medical methods, classical medicine, tibetan medicine, homeopathy and physiotherapy.

We managed all these gorgeous activities thanks to the idealistic activity of our team and the many field helpers as well as your donations to buy the required medicine.
A big thank to the Mönlam committee and to Mr. Tsering. Our information desk at the committee tent was very successful. We also thank the Shedra students who translated for us Tibetan-English.
Of course we presented our films at two evenings and made a presentation of our work in the West. And it was the opening night of our first KHCP-trailer.

Preparations at the days before
The travelling conditions are quite difficult. Kagyu friends are coming together in Bodhgaya from all parts of the Himalaya. Most of them are travelling between 30-40 hours with the bus. So it is very useful to offer medical care at their arrival. Two pediatricians were specially brought in to take care of the children ...
