Fund-Raising Announcement/Report of Kagyü monasteries in Rumtek/Sikkim/India
Our friends in Rumtek need help - despite earthquake in Nepal we have´nt forget the indian sites. The life in Rumtek is very poor and medical support is far away. Since 2005 the three Karma Kagyü institutes are supported by KHCP-Karmapa´s Healthcare Project. 10 Years Anniversary of KHCP Karmapa´s Healthcare Project ...
At the summer course 2005 in Kassel a first works meeting of Hannah Nydahl, Pia and Peter Cerveny happened. After she made the link to H.H.Gyalwa Karmapa. Two month later Pia and Peter went up to Karmapa´s university (Shedra) in Kalimpong/North-India. Over 4 weeks they had diverse works meetings with Gyalwa Karmapa developing the ideas of a healthcare project for his monks and nuns.
On Oct. 25, 2005 the KHCP - Karmapa´s Healthcare Project was founded by a letter of Gyalwa Karmapa.

Free Medical Camp Kathmandu 2015-06:
A powerful 7.8 earthquake — the country's worst in 80 years — rocked Nepal on April 25, 2015, killing so far more than 10,000 citizens and leveling buildings and centuries-old temples. More than 1.5 Millions are homeless.

Announcement: Medical camps at Dhagpo Sheydrub Ling Monastery and Sharminub Monastery, Kathmandu/Nepal, May 25 - June 8, 2015:
H.H.Karmapa Thaye Dorje will inaugurate Dhagpo Sheydrub Ling, the new monastery of Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche and then Karmapa will lead aspiration prayers for the swift return of Karma Kagyu lineage holder Shamar Rinpoche in Kathmandu. During this two weeks of ceremonies the KHCP-DHK will provide two grand medical camps at both places. Again like last year we expect to treat hundreds of people every day. Our team consist on medical professions from Kathmandu and Europe. But we are still looking for more medical helpers and volunteers. And of course every small donation is welcome to buy all the necessary medicaments.

Annual Report 2014:
...a medical camp for Shamarpa´s cremation in Kathmandu and offer help for thousands of people who paid their last respects to him... over the year there were further numerous medical and dental camps at our institutes, monasteries and schools in the Himalayas... Conforming with the wishes of Karmapa and Shamarpa, many "Western" friends were able to develop their social activity and help at KHCP's Mönlam medical camp last December. Almost 50 helpers from many nations treated more than 3000 people in just one week... In 2014 KHCP was proud to collect about 53.000 Euros...

The Kagyu Monlam 2014 took place between December 15 and 21, with thousands of devotees in attendance... KHCP has existed for over eight years now and has carried out tens of thousands of treatments at numerous medical camps in the Himalayas and in Bodhgaya. ...parts of our work have now been taken over by Dhulikhel Hospital, the University Hospital of Nepal. We have hired a constant KHCP physician and an assistant. The two of them regularly travel to visit the 24 monasteries and schools to offer medical services. Our medical team consisted of three physicians and one nurse. Dr.dent. Regina Oettke, the dentist, had more than enough to do. She examined all monks and nuns and treated those who needed treatment. We also examined the 36 students of the neighboring state school, who were really in need of medical care, particularly because none of them had healthy teeth. We carried out a teeth brushing training and hygiene teaching and distributed tooth brushes and tooth paste...

Annual Report 2012:
The year 2012 was marked by some reorganization, new tasks and various new collaborations. Karmapa’s Healthcare Project is 7 years old now and it is time that our young friends in the East and West take over parts of the work. We have an online-office now... Altogether, more than 100 healthcare professionals and helpers from more than 20 nations and three different continents were travelling volunteerly over the winter... New collaboration between KHCP and Dhulikhel Hospital, we have now the chance to provide broad and permanent healthcare in our Kagyu institutes.

In a works meeting the financial reports of the monasteries of Shangpa Rinpoche in Pokhara and Kathmandu were checked by Dupsing Rinpoche and Pia/Peter from KHCP. Furthermore, they talked about the medical plans for 2013. Rinpoche offered to be the contact person for future activities of the KHCP at all four monasteries/nunnery (being in the KHCProject) of Shangpa Rinpoche in Nepal.

After a journey with lovely views of the Himalayan eight-thousanders, our KHCP team arrived at Dhulikhel Hospital near Namo Buddha. We were warmly welcomed by the administrative staff and invited to the doctors’ cafeteria for sustenance. After that, Dr. Ram’s doctors and heads of the departments showed us around all the departments of the hospital. We had a lively exchange of information about the various activities of both sides. ...In the end, our team had a meeting with Dr. Ram Sheestra (founder and director of the hospital). ... the KHCP directors handed over to him a donation of 10,000 € for the installation of a large emergency power generator (100 kilowatts) for the childbirth department...

Dec. 5-7,2012: Medical camp, inspection and meeting in Rumtek/Sikkim/India
The KHCP provided a free medical camp (dermatologic screening) for the monks and nuns as well for the local habitants. We also could handover plenty of UV-protected sunglasses to the monks and nuns... The first on-site inspection of the old ruined Rumtek hospital took place. Then we had a meeting with the chairmen of the "Rumtek Monks and Lays Society" and the principles of our three Kagyü-monasteries/nunnery. We alltogether express our wish to provide more medical support for the people in Rumtek and the remote areas...

Nov 19, 2012: In a works meeting in July 2012 Shamar Rinpoche offered a room for KHCP in his new monastery construction in Kathmandu. Now the KHCP met the architect Willi Kroeger of Shamarpa at place. Willi showed us the whole construction area of the monastery incl. the future medical room.

KHCP-Note and HNY Happy New Year Wishes 2013
As usual we start with Medicalcamps in Kathmandu at Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoches place together with the Manang community. First time we`ll do a camp at Shamarpa´s new monastery in Raniban.
Then our medical-camp-group will split, one half will visits Pokhara and Muktinath and the other will go up via Kalimpong to Rumtek to help Karmapa´s people in the remote area and bring Rumtek Hospital forward ...

KHCP-Clinic Project Rumtek/Sikkim/India - 2012 Part1
According to the wish of H.H. 17th Karmapa the old Rumtek hospital is to be re-established. In March 2012, both his Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa and Jigme Rinpoche assigned the task of building the medical structure of the hospital to the KHCP.
