Nov. 19, 2012: Visit of the new construction of Shamar Rinpoche´s Monastery Raniban
In a workmeeting in July 2012 Shamar Rinpoche offered a room for KHCP in his new retreat construction in Kathmandu. Now the KHCP met the architect Willi Kroeger of Shamarpa at place. Dec. 14-20, 2012: Medicalcamp Kagyü Mönlam in Bodhgaya/India
For the fifth time this year, the KHCP - Karmapa´s Healthcare Project provided free medical checkups and healthcare for participants in the Mönlam as well as the local population. The KHCP's staff consisted of a total of forty people, all of them voluntary helpers: general practitioners, dermatologists, dentists, physiotherapists, Tibetan medicine, acousticians, acupuncturists, nurses, assistants, organisers and helpers from a total of seven-teen countries. Dec. 5-7, 2012: Medicalcamp, inspection and meeting in Rumtek/Sikkim/India
The KHCP provided a free medicalcamp (dermatologic screening) for the monks and nuns as well for the local habitants. We also could handover plenty of UV-protected sunglasses to the monks and nuns... The first on-site inspection of the old ruined Rumtek hospital took place. Then we had a meeting with the chairmen of the "Rumtek Monks and Lays Society" and the principles of our three Kagyü-monasteries/nunnery. Nov 22-23, 2012: Teaching by Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche/KHCP-Medicalcamp at KIBS in Kirtipur/Kathmandu.
In colaboration with 8 doctors of the Dhulikhel Hospital, the KHCP provided a free medicalcamp for the monks and nuns as well for the local habitants of Kirtipur. The checkups happened at Shangpa Rinpoche´s monastery (KIBS) during the teachings of Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche. Visit to Beru Kyentse Rinpoche´s Monastery in Boudha/Kathmandu
Sept 27, 2012: I visited Beru Kyentse Rinpoche's monastery in Boudha. There are 36 joung monks, about 10 older monks and a bunch of foreign students. Inka, a German student, and Pasang had asked KHCP for help and possibly a camp in the spring. At the monastery Pasang and Inka showed me around and we talked about the medical situation.  Read more...

June 08, 2012: Since 2005 the school of Shamar Rinpoche at Swayambhu/Kathmandu/Nepal is supported by KHCP with health campagnes and english teachers. Oct, 2011: Physio research at the Nunnery Muktinath
We conducted initial research to find out with what types of musculoskeletal conditions the nuns at Muktinath suffered , and how they would best benefit from physiotherapy treatment and training. The nuns were separated into pairs and interviewed each other, answering several questions about their conditions and how the pain affected their lives. ...our physicians Susanne and Philip gave first aid and hygiene teaching to the residential monks of the KIBI. Later, short before Karmapa´s course, the KHCP provide profound eye examination and dental treatments. Pia and Peter had a long work meeting with Jigme Rinpoche (Secretary of H.H.Karmapa). March 25, 2012: Brain tumor operation in Dhulikhel
In early march Pia, Peter, Khenpo Sherab (KHCP) and Dr.dent.Gisela Huber and Augustin went to the Dhulikel University Hospital near Kathmandu/Nepal. Here they had a nice talk to Dr.med.Ram Shreesta, the founder of this and further hospitals in Nepal which serve specially the poor people. After both sides had introduced their acticities, he said "... we have the same spirit" and he offers a colaboration (treatment and education) for the future. 3 weeks later the KHCP could sent the young Gendun from Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche's school for a brain tumor operation.  Read more...

KHCP-Präsentation beim Rotary Club und neues Optiker-Team
In 2010 KHCP for the first time was able to supply optical glasses to our friends at the Medicalcamp at Moenlam due to a Donation by Apollo and Klemann. Having heard of our work Rotaract, the Youthorganization of Rotary, started collecting glasses among the Members of Rotary in the south of Germany. Within only a few months they were able to collect the amazing amount of more than 1.500 glasses in excellent condition which were donated to KHCP... WEITER >>

Oct 9, 2011 - KHCP- work meeting with Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche in Kathmandu/Nepal
Just arrived from our medicalcamp in Mustang we meet Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche in Kathmandu. We talk about news and plans of the project at his places here in Kathmandu. With Lama Phuntsok and Lama Lekshey we plan the school issues.

10-2011, KHCP-Medicalcamp at Shangpa Rinpoche´s nunnery in Muktinath/Nepal
After a cumbersome ascent in an SUV, the team of Shangpa Rinpoche arrives in Muktinath. In the evening, dinner with RInpoche and all his nuns in friendly atmosphere. After, we introduce ourselves to each other while Rinpoche translates and emphasizes the importance of the project. Everybody is happy that the medical camp will start the following day at 3800 m altitude. The next 2 day, medical services are provided and the people living in Muktinath are invited as well, of course. Shangpa Rinpoche invites us to a pilgrimage afterwards. MORE >>

After successful transfer of our new dental unit we were able to repair and clean teeth professionally for the first time under the supervision of our dentist Regina - a great success. Other members of the team were two further General Practitioners, a Physical Therapist and helpers, therefore we could serve not only all monks in the JCMonastery (now members of the KHCP) but also monks of the neighbouring Sakya Monastery and Tibetan refugees from the village. Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche gave Empowerments on Buddha Green Tara as well on Chenresig (kings transmission) and he read the complete Lung of the "Juwels ornaments" of Gampopa (about 6 hours).

07-2011: KHCP/Streetdogcare - hygiene classes in Kathmandu/Nepal
On July 10, Street Dog Care went to Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche´s monastery and school in Swayambhu to distribute the  "My dog is my best friend" booklet to the young monks!... In addition, our booklet explains how to keep a dog happy and healthy, and the little monks showed keen interest in hearing all the stories and they loved colouring in the books. MORE >>
